  • What is hypnosis?

It's a normal, natural state of mind we all experience many times in our lives when we are day dreaming, reading a book, watching TV or undertaking activities such as dancing.

  • Will I have to speak or tell you everything about my past or my problems?

No, only as much as you want or required as part of your treatment plan.

  • Do you read my mind?

No, I have no mystical or magical powers.

  • I have heard that those who can be hypnotised are weak minded?

A modern scare story and misconception which is simply untrue.

  • Hypnosis is caused by the hypnotist?

A hypnotherapist has no special powers. The only power they have is the ability to communicate in a dynamic and focused way.

  • Will I know what's happening?

Absolutely. When people are in a hypnotic state they can talk, feel, hear, taste and smell. Everyone is different and may have different positive experiences. At all times you will remain in control while under hypnosis.

  • Will I tell you things I don't want to reveal?

No, you are very much in control of what you say.

  • Will I remember things afterwards?

Most people can remember something of what is said whilst in trance, we all experience hypnosis differently.

  • Will it work for me?

It can work for those people who want to make positive changes in their lives with the guidance of a compassionate hypnotherapist with whom you can feel comfortable.

  • How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is an individual and each client will have their treatment plan tailored specifically for them.

  • Does it work for everyone?

It can work on those who want to make changes in their lives.

  • Do I have to continue treatment forever?

No, it usually takes a certain number of sessions depending on the individual and the nature of the problem.

  • How will I know how susceptible I am to hypnosis?

Every client will have a susceptibility indicator to check for their readiness and ability to enter into the hypnotic trance at the start of their treatment plan.

  • Can I be hypnotised to say something against my will?

    Definitely not.

  • Why don’t you do the Gastric Band when other hypnotherapists do?

Gastric band hypnotherapy does not deal with the underlying cause of the weight issue, it only treats the symptom.

  • How do I know you are properly trained?

I have been trained by the Australian College of Hypnotherapy, a government Recognised Training Organisation, and I am a member of the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists (ASCH)  and the Australian Hypnotherapy Association (AHA) which recognises the high quality training I have received under the inspirational teacher Rhondda Stewart.
